Seeing I paid this off last week, I thought it was time to post it. With my heart set on a 24 fret JJ (or possibly PJ), I went to Brooklyn for a sound sample. After a "quick" three hours, my mind was made up. It was a Will Lee all the way! The specs are to be: Will Lee with flamed maple/swamp ash body finished natural in lacquer Flamed maple fretboard Hum canceling pickups Chrome hardware Tort pickguard PortaBag Light SS Blue Label strings And here's the body:

Thanks. I saw that body while at their shop. It looked too good to pass up. I made a few changes after the initial order but I think I'm all set now. It's just the waiting.

Mr. Pink would be proud! All ya need is Steve B.'s sig on the i/s of the control cav. cover & it'll be a hall of famer. Any E.T.A. ? She arrived last week. Plays like a dream.

There has been much comment on NYC necks being nitro finish. What about the body paint? Is it also nitro or a type of poly ? I'm not sure I've heard definitive reasoning for the choice of neck & body finish. Thanks. B.

Blair, body finish is thin poly. You could custom order nitro in the past, but it's not an option anymore.

Update Picture! Looks great, Timothy. As much as I like natural finish, this burst really enhances this beautiful piece of spalted maple.

It's funny that it takes roughly the same amount of time to have a baby as it does to have a Sadowsky made.

Roger, Is there by any chance a film of some sort over the top finish of a sprayed body, as a protection perhaps? Thanks. B.

Last time I checked, that was called a pickguard! The finish is the film that protects the wood. You want a film to protect the film? Seriously, not sure what you are asking for--- Roger
