Roger, I think that Blair is seeing a reflection on the body that might look similar to the protection film that you use on the back (and other parts of the bass) when you ship them. If I'm right on my guess, that reflection is just the camera flash reflecting on the finish of the bass. Roger, Is there by any chance a film of some sort over the top finish of a sprayed body, as a protection perhaps? Thanks. B.
Last time I checked, that was called a pickguard! The finish is the film that protects the wood. You want a film to protect the film? Seriously, not sure what you are asking for--- Roger

One photographic factor is the incredible amount of light eminating from Sadowsky's brilliance.

Hey everyone, I'm new to the family of Sadowsky owners (well, expecting my first bass in the coming months... ) , I searched Talkbass and this forum for people who were doing a buckeye burl build, but didn't find anyone who had pics of it from scratch (i.e. the raw unfinished buckeye planks) so I thought I'd upload what I got so far for prospective buyers :-) I just got pics of the raw body today, I'm so excited now it ain't funny!! I can only imagine what it'd look like sprayed...and with the birdseye maple fingerboard...WOOOOOOOO!!!! Sorry for the overreaction lol just can't believe this will soon be mine, all mine....(cue maniacal laughter)

Stupid question: I just noticed there's a mark around where the bridge would be on all the build pics...is it for measuring the bridge position or there's some other purpose to it?

There is a drilled hole from the control cavity to the under side of the bridge to accommodate the ground wire which grounds the electronics to the bridge. (if that small slot is what you're referring to) B.

Hey Brandon, I think that the natural finish on that ash is almost as stunning as the top! I can't help thinking about your experience of unzipping & seeing that bass for the 1st time. Trust me - you won't forget it any time soon! You are in for a huge moment in time bro. B.
