Sadowsky guys, How do you do it?

One of the things that I love about my Sadowsky JJ4 is that the volume and tonality of each note
on the fretboard is almost perfectly balanced...no dead spots, no hot spots, no hot strings...(like an over powerful A string) no weak strings (like a thin and weak sounding G string)...
Every note at every fret sings out with equal power and sustain.
I thought it must be this one amazing bass...the J. But now I've added a nicely cared for 09 Sadowsky P bass to my inventory and last night, gigging with it for the first time, I found that it, too, has the same balance of note at every fret. I used to avoid going up the neck on the G string on my other P bass as much as I had to caress the A string to avoid booming loudness from it. But now that is all in the past.
How do you guys do it? How do you accomplish such a balance of note and string output? Is it in the pickups? The wood? The electrics? The set up? Is it all of that and more? Do you have a secret supply of Mojo? Whatever you're doing it's obvious that you're doing it right.
It's an amazing experience to play a bass that is so beautifully dialed in.
