Hi from Italy,
I'm looking for a new head amp to add to my Aguilar Gs112. I had a Mesa Walkabout but it was too many vintagey sound to me.
I'm looking for something clean.
I play mainly light jazz & bossa and some soul/funk.
I was thinking to the Epi UL501, it seems a little very good head, I mean something well built, not in the cheap/chinese department.
As alternative Eden Wt550.
Any thoughts, any suggestion, any user?
Sorry for my scholastic english.
Many thanks in advance.
Roberto

Indeed, I played a MarkBass SA450 with my GS112, GS212, db112 and db212 for a long time.
The Markbass heads go VERY WELL with Aguilar 12" cabs.

I have one an Eden WTX 500 and they sound great with a Sadowsky. Perfect for what you want and very portable.

I know this was posted a few weeks ago, but if you are still in the market for a modern sounding head I would recommend the Genz-Benz shuttle 6.0.
It is light weight 3.75 lbs. has 375W/8 ohms and 600W/4 ohms. Also has a tube preamp for when you want some overdrive. I couldn't be happier with mine, it is very well made and it won't break the bank.

My UL502 sits atop my two T-112NYC cabs - a UL501 would be a nice addy......mo' power = mo' better
