Regarding the battery in a Sadowsky bass, is there a recommendation as far as what the lowest voltage the battery can be before replacing it?

If you don't have a tester... a giveaway would be distortion of your signal. I don't know if that's the same symptom for all basses or guitars, but that's what has happened in my experience.
As far as an actual number of volts for sag before battery replacement, I don't actually know... I'd just listen for that "voltage sag" sound.
You can buy a battery tester that you plug into your output jack on the sadowsky site. Handy!
