Hi I was wondering what the benefit of a flatter fingerboard is? Why did you choose a 12" ? and what would be the problems or disadvantages of a 7.5" of the vintage era?
thank you Brian

Hi Brian,

The problem with a small radius like 7.5" is the necks are very prone to choking out in the upper register if you do even the smallest amount of string bending.  Also, when you are dealing with a slab fingerboard, it requires a very thick fingerboard blank.

Even Fender, in all of their more modern basses, does nothing tighter than a 9.5" radius.

We offer 12" and 9".
