Fingerboard Question

Hi I've been trying to get an answer through email with no reply. My question is that a lot of people talk about the difference between Metro's and NYC's ,my question is are the truing of the fingerboards the same ,Do Metro's have a drop off?Also I'm looking into buying a new bass and it's between sadowsky or a dingwall and I asked a question about Roger's thoughts on a fannned fret bass and would really like to hear thoughts so I can make my decision.
