Sadowsky Basses / Sadowsky Basses / External Pre Amp AC Adapter?

I have one of the earlier Sadowsky external pre-amps which I enjoy using with my passive, non-Sadowksy basses. Feeding it batteries gets old after a while. I have tried using various AC Adapters with it - all of them within the range of specification for a 9V battery replacement - and all introduce a loud hum. Any suggestions?

Sadowsky Basses / Sadowsky Basses / Re: D-tuners

I recently installed the drop tuner on my Sadowsky. I have them on some of my other basses so it's not a new concept to me.
No, it's not the same as having a 5-string but it's close enough for the kind of stuff I do.
I've started using it more and more for any key where "D" is a major component - not just the obvious when "D" is the "1".

Sadowsky Basses / Sadowsky Basses / Re: Preamp gain question

Like someone inferred, this will depend on how you like your tone. I don't leave mine on one setting because I like to tune in the room and I also play several formats - one band might want me to play old school deep and thick and another might want me slap happy and bright.
Just my .02
