I think it can be done with a Modern or Standard but the pickguard on the Vintage style makes it a bit problematic, IMO.

That is reasonable.

I think it's best to call the shop and ask. They are always sensitive and open minded to what clients have to say. They might even change policy if there's a big demand for something that doesn't go against any major principal.
