I Just read all of Roger's link to Talkbass (OY! NOT AGAIN!). I feel dirty. What the F's wrong with those people? It's always the same thing with most upscale basses when you have some bozo arguing that he would never spend over $300 for a bass, and his Squire (It's ALWAYS a Squire) is just as good as your Brooklyn built bass, and you must be an idiot for spending that much. Then they all come out of the woodwork, like roaches, and attack. At least this time, they were talking about some pricier basses in comparison. In all the discussions I've been on, I've never insulted or talked down to anyone because of how much they could afford to spend on an instrument. I don't get why the opposite takes place every day. There's a simple answer, in my opinion. If you don't think a Sadowsky is the bass for you, DON'T BUY ONE! That's why there's probably over a hundred builders out there. And, tah leaves more Sadowskys for the rest of us! OK, now I have to take a shower and hug my Tiger's Eye NYC for a while. Rock on Roger.

I got a Tone Hammer 500 and should have an SL112 soon.

It's a great amp at 4 lbs! It even sounds good through the 212. But I really like the sound with one or two of the 112s. I had the GS112 first, or I might have gone with the SL cab also. I went through a few Eden WTXs first, a bit less money, but the sound wasn't as natural as the Tone Hammer. Actually, the TH500 and one GS112 still seem to weight less than my DB750 in the rack case!

Aguilar DB750 with a GS212 cab + Aguilar TLC pedal. Thinking of adding a GS115 or GS210 (if I can find one) to the rig.

Update: Still have the DB750 and GS212, didn't like the GS210 and I needed a smaller amp sometimes.. I now also have an Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 head with two GS112 cabs. I can either use 1 or 2 112s or If I'm feeling really insecure I can use all three cabinets with the DB750, a 2.67 ohm load and approx 800 watts.

Just looking at a pre-owned Metro MS4 Bass. Approx what year did they switch to VTC?

My Tiger's Eye Burst Standard 4, completed in Nov 2008. The back is a solid brown, definitely not a '59 burst. On every Jazz bass I've ever owned, I'd pan a bit towards the neck pickup to get a fatter sound. This P/J setup is my dream bass, weighing in at 7.45 pounds. If you pan all the way to the P pickup, you have a Hybrid P. I recently added an NYC 24 fret with soapbars, I think I have most sounds covered with this duo. Compliments to Roger, Kevin and the entire crew for making some of the finest basses on the planet.
*added 3/20/11. I recently swapped the soapbars in my 24 fret for Nordy Big Singles. To quote George Takei "OH MY!!"
They kick some serious butt. Nice combination with my P/J, I'm still thinking about the "next" Sadowsky.
